Austral Canvas has been designing and manufacturing Australian made products since 1929 when it opened as Austral Tent Factory on the now Entertainment Centre site.
With over 90 years’ experience Austral knows that quality and customer satisfaction is of the utmost importance. Everyone wants the best price no matter what the product is, therefore, when you are buying from Austral Canvas, you know you are getting the best factory direct prices.
We use Wax Converters’ Australian made poly/cotton canvas that has been made to the highest standard and for Australia’s demanding conditions. The Dynaproofed chemical formulation also combines for resistance against degradation caused by harmful UV, as well as rot, mildew, and fungicidal attack.
Austral Canvas manufactures and supplies a wide range of Caravan Related Products to customers Australia wide. Australian made products can be a little more expensive than those made overseas, however they will save you all the inconvenience and additional costs that are involved when buying imported products that do not live up to our standards.
We also offer a range of repairs, alterations, and additions. This includes all types insurance repairs/replacements, warranty work and much more.
2020 and beyond
2020 saw the formal diversification of “Austral”. Michael and Julie Ford have carried on the traditional canvas business since they took over in 1986. “Whilst canvas has been our main core business, we have always offered a range of RV repairs and services”.
We pride ourselves on our professionalism and embrace our family business values.
You will all be familiar with Michael and Julie’s daughter Mel. She has been in the business since she was a week old. Mel features in some of the videos and photos as does our grandson Tyler. Our newest grandson Jake will make his debut soon.
Austral RV Service Centre was officially launched in 2020 and keeping the family tradition going, the service division is now in full swing under the experienced Service Manager and son-in-law, Ryan Gaspari.
Focusing on the Service and Repairs to all makes of Caravans, Pop-tops and Campers, Ryan will expertly guide you through the process from start to finish. Insurance and Warranty work is welcome, and he is also a licenced gas and AL-KO ESC installer.
